Hello, I'm Karan!

Linkedin / CV

I am an electrical engineering PhD student at Stanford University and NSF Graduate Research Fellow, currently rotating with Dr. James Zou. I am broadly interested in medical AI, and am exploring other applications and aspects of ML at the moment, including AI safety, HCI, and robotics.

Previously, I was a post-baccalaureate researcher here at Stanford, where I applied machine learning to transcranial ultrasound neuromodulation, a non-invasive therapeutic modality with the potential to cure neurological diseases such as epilepsy, Alzheimer's, and even addiction. My primary focus there was using ML to improve therapy planning accuracy and efficiency. You can view some of my research here!

Outside of academics, I enjoy playing the piano, badminton, working out, and cooking! I am also co-founder and co-president of the Stanford Piano Society.
